HERSHEY, PA (April 21, 2010) - Dylan Reese scored the only shorthanded goal of the Sound Tigers' and Hershey Bears' East Division Semi-Final Series but it was Kyle Wilson tallying a goal and an assist for the Bears in their 4-1 series clinching victory. Mikko Koskinen allowed three goals in the first period but was steady the rest of the way, making 30 saves on 34 Hershey shots.

Karl Alzner put the Bears up 1-0 with a quick goal, 3:25 into the first period. Kyle Wilson fed Sean Collins at the right point where the Hershey defenseman spun a cross-ice pass to Alzner at the left point. Alzner, a teammate of Sound Tigers' defenseman Dustin Kohn in the Western Hockey League, blasted a shot through Sound Tigers' starting goalie Mikko Koskinen for his first tally of the post-season.

Another Bear defenseman doubled the Hershey lead to 2-0. Zach Miskovic, playing in his first game of the series, wristed a shot from the center point that once again Koskinen could not see and the puck ricocheted off the left post and past the 6'5 Sound Tiger net-minder. Boyd Kane and Andrew Joudrey assisted on the play.

Reese answered for the Sound Tigers three minutes later with Jon Gleed in the penalty box. Jeremy Reich intercepted a pass by Chris Bourque at the right point and led a rush up the ice. The Sound Tiger assistant captain tried to set up Greg Mauldin in the left circle for a one-time shot, but the Sound Tiger forward fanned on the play. Mauldin however was able to draw three Hershey players towards him while he was regaining the puck and snapped a no look feed to the slot. Reese, who was trailing the play, grabbed the centering feed and wristed a shot through Hershey starting goalie, Michal Neuvirth's legs to cut the Bears' lead to 2-1.

The Bears regained their two-goal cushion with five minutes left in the opening frame. Kyle Wilson jumped on a loose puck, high in the Sound Tigers' zone and snapped a shot through the legs of Koskinen for his second marker of the post-season, putting the Bears up 3-1.

A minute into the second period, Giroux tallied his sixth goal of the playoffs, blasting a slap-shot over the shoulder of Koskinen for the 4-1 Hershey lead. Chris Bourque and Keith Aucoin had the assists on the power-play tally, the Bears only of the game.

The Sound Tigers would only muster two shots in the third period, all of which Neuvirth turned aside to lead the Bears to a 4-1 victory. Hershey will move onto the second round with the win and face the Albany River Rats.

Koskinen finished the game with 30 saves on 34 shots while Neuvirth made six saves to earn his third win of the post-season. The Sound Tigers were 0-for-2 on the man-advantage and 5-for-6 on the penalty-kill

With the loss, the Bears officially end the Sound Tigers' 2009-10 season. Stay tuned to soundtigers.com for upcoming community events over the summer.
