Tensions were high in Game 4 of the North Division Semi-Final between the Manitoba Moose and Hamilton Bulldogs, especially when the hard-fought battle headed into double overtime. But six minutes into the fifth period, Bulldogs defenseman P.K. Subban fired the game-winner past Cory Schneider to give Hamilton a 5-4 double overtime victory and a 3-1 series lead.

With Cory Schneider and Cedrick Desjardins manning opposite ends of the ice, the Moose and Bulldogs embarked on Game 4 of the North Division Semi-Final. Desjardins was put to work right away, with six attempts on his net, while Schneider only had to set aside one shot in the first seven minutes of play.

Hamilton's P.K. Subban was dealt the first penalty of the game when he was charged with interference at 7:25. Manitoba's powerplay unit mustered up two shots in their first appearance, but couldn't open the scoring during the two-minute advantage.

The powerplay tables turned in the visitors favor at 10:55 when Lawrence Nycholat was put away for roughing. With 17 seconds left on the powerplay clock, Hamilton positioned themselves in the Moose zone. Grant Stevenson's sharp angled shot from the red-circle was tipped in by Mike Glumac for a 1-0 Bulldogs lead.

Manitoba started the second period strong, scoring a mere 1:20 into the frame. Rookie defenseman Evan Oberg swung behind Desjardins net and wrapped the puck into the left side of the goaltender's cage to knot the score at one.

At 6:31, the Moose earned their first lead of the night. With a behind the net pass from Guillaume Desbiens, Mario Bliznak snapped the puck past Desjardins for a 2-1 tally. The Moose didn't enjoy their lead for long, however, as Brock Trotter beat Schneider on his glove side 15 seconds later to get back on even ground.

The Moose continued to battle and 25 seconds later connected again. With a set up by Matt Pope, Dusty Collins backhanded the puck over Desjardins to score his first point of the playoffs and put the home team back on top.

At 8:41 Moose rookies Jordan Schroeder and Kevin Clark found themselves entering the Bulldogs zone on an odd-man rush. Schroeder carried the puck down the right side of the ice and Winnipeg-born Clark completed the play when he slapped the disc into the open back door for a 4-2 lead.

The back-and-forth scoring continued at 10:48 when P.K. Subban slapped the puck from the slot and past Schneider to inch closer, 4-3.

The Moose and Bulldogs were neck-and-neck in shots throughout the third period, with both teams firing 28 attempts each. However, the Bulldogs found the back of the net on their 29th try. Schneider stopped the initial blast, but the puck trickled out of his grasp allowing Mike Glumac to smack in his second goal of the night to tie the game and force overtime.

Overtime:

The fourth period saw solid scoring chances on both ends of the ice, but neither goaltender budged. By the end of the extra 20 minute frame, the Bulldogs led the Moose in the shot department 42-40, but neither team scored forcing double overtime.

Double Overtime:

Hamilton's Ryan White was handed a tripping penalty 1:14 into double overtime. Despite putting extra pressure on Desjardins, Manitoba couldn't confirm the game on the advantage.

P.K. Subban notched the game-winner when his slap shot from outside the red circle hit the back of Manitoba's net at 6:05. By earning a 5-4 double overtime victory over the Moose, the Bulldogs lead the North Division Semi-Finals 3-1.
