Paris And Zanoski Called Up To AHL Toronto

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Tom Zanoski and defenseman Drew Paris have been called up to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

It is Zanoski's fourth trip to the AHL this season as he previously appeared in nine games with the Lake Erie Monsters while he also skated in eight games with the Binghamton Senators and two with the Albany River Rats. In all, Zanoski has appeared in 19 AHL games this season, notching a total of six points and 15 penalty minutes.

In 35 games with the Gladiators, the 5-foot-11 185-pound forward has recorded 22 goals and 20 assists for 42 points and currently ranks third in scoring on the Gladiators.

Paris makes his first appearance in the American Hockey League this season and the second of his career after he skated in 5 games with the Rochester Americans during the 2008-09 season.

The Pointe-Claire Quebec native currently leads all rookie defensemen in scoring with 39 points while ranking first among Gwinnett blue liners and fourth overall on the Gladiators. Paris also represented the Gladiators at the 2010 ECHL All Star game in Ontario, California posting a goal and a +3 rating helping the American Conference to a 10-9 shootout win.

Paris and Zanoski should be available for the Toronto Marlies for their 7:30 p.m. tilt tonight at Hamilton against the Bulldogs.

The Gladiators continue their 7th season in the ECHL on Thursday, March 11th @ Charlotte at 7:05 p.m. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
