WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder lost 5-3 to the Arizona Sundogs at the INTRUST Bank Arena on Sunday evening.

The Sundogs took a 2-0 lead on goals 20 seconds apart from Kevin Jarman and Joey Sides. Bobby Hughes scored for a second straight night at 10:12 to cut the lead in half, but Arizona added two more of their own by the end of the first to hold a 4-1 lead.

The Thunder narrowed the gap to 4-2 in the closing minute of the second. Paul Kelly tipped in Chris McAllister's shot from the point with 31 seconds left for his 20th goal of the season. Earlier in the period, the Thunder killed off four consecutive minutes of power play, including a full two minutes of a two-man Sundogs' advantage. Clark challenged an unwilling Adam Smyth, who leads the league in major penalties, before being sent back to the locker room for the rest of the night.

The Thunder pulled within one goal at 4:16 in the third. Tomas Klempa scored for the third time in the last two games, unleashing a laser from the right circle that reached the net after hitting off of Doug Groenestege's left shoulder. The Sundogs extended their lead at 6:02 on a power play goal from Steve Potvin.

Scott Campbell stopped 20 of 21 after relieving Keserich after the first period. Keserich took the loss, saving 11 of 15. Groenestege saved 33 of 36 to improve to 12-0 lifetime against the Thunder. Wichita was 0 for 6 on the power play while going 8 for 9 on the penalty kill.
