AUSTIN, TX February 16, 2010 The Toros announced today that 7-1, 240 pound center Luke Bonner has been acquired from the available player pool. The Toros roster now stands at 11, including Spurs assigned player Malik Hairston.
Bonner, 24, played collegiate ball at Massachusetts where he averaged 6.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 23 games his senior year. Bonner was also named to the 2008-09 Atlantic 10 All- Academic Team. Most recently, he averaged 9.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in Hungary. Luke is the younger brother of San Antonio Spurs forward/center Matt Bonner.
Luke Bonner will wear jersey number 42 on Thursday when the Toros travel to take on the LA D-Fenders. The Toros play three games in California before coming home to play the final weekend in February. Tickets are available by calling the Toros office at (512) 236-8333 or visiting austintoros.com.
