Blades Leap To Fifth In CHL Rankings

The Saskatoon Blades have moved up one spot to 5th overall spot in the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Week 18 Rankings that were released on Wednesday afternoon.

The Blades were in action four times over the past week and compiled a 3-0-1-0 record. The team opened the week with a pair of victories at home on Tuesday 3-2 over the Swift Current Broncos and on Wednesday 4-1 over the Calgary Hitmen. The Bridge City Bunch travelled to Swift Current on Friday and beat the Broncos 4-3. The Blades wrapped up the week on Saturday with a 3-2 overtime loss to the Medicine Hat Tigers at home.

The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League's Top 10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts. This is the 14th time the Blades have appeared on the list this season.

The Eastern Conference leading Blades return to the ice this Friday with a home date against the Kootenay Ice. Game time is 7:05 pm. Tickets are available online at ticketmaster.ca, by calling 938-7800, or by visiting any Ticketmaster outlet.
