Amerks Assign Defenseman Matt Duffy To Florida Everblades

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans Vice President of Hockey Operations Ted Nolan announced today that the team has reassigned defenseman Matt Duffy to the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

Duffy, 24, heads to the ECHL after spending the last three weeks with Rochester. In 10 American Hockey League games with the Amerks this season, the Windham, Maine, native has scored one goal and two assists for three points. With the Everblades, the 6-foot-2, 201-pound blueliner has one assist and 18 penalty minutes in 10 appearances. In 26 combined professional games with Florida (ECHL) and Rochester, Duffy has registered 10 points (3+7) and 22 penalty minutes.

Prior to turning pro, Duffy played four seasons at the University of Maine, collecting 26 points (14+12) and 100 penalty minutes in 96 games for the Black Bears. He was the Florida Panthers' fourth-round selection (104th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Rochester returns home from its season-long six-game road trip on Friday, December 11th as the Abbotsford Heat make their inaugural visit to the Flower City. The 7:05 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk. The game will also be televised live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet Channel 26.
