Grizzlies Finish Off Las Vegas 3-2 In Overtime

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies (11-4) defeated the Las Vegas Wranglers 3-2 in overtime Sunday evening at the E-Center to win their fifth-straight game.

Utah finished seven-straight games in 12 days against Las Vegas with a 6-1 record as they dismantled of the Wranglers for the third time in less than 48 hours.

20-year-old rookie Brett Parnham, in just his third game with Utah, scored a shorthanded goal in the second period to give Utah a 2-1 lead and then followed his own rebound 43 seconds into overtime to give the Grizzlies the win.

Utah fell behind 1-0 5:25 in the first period on a Ned Lukacevic power-play goal, but answered 5:35 into the second period as Tim Maxwell knocked in a lose puck to tie the game on the Utah power-play and extend his scoring streak to five games. AJ Perry (five games) and Vlady Nikiforov (three assists) assisted on the goal to extend their scoring streaks.

Las Vegas tied the game at two on a power-play goal late in the second period and the third period went scoreless to send the contest to overtime.

Grizzlies goaltender Mitch O'Keefe (7-1) stopped 23 of 25 shots, including eight-straight in the 2-2 third period for his seventh-straight win.

The Grizzlies return to action Wednesday, Friday and Saturday when they will welcome the Alaska Aces to the E-Center. Wednesday and Friday's games will begin at 7 p.m., while Saturday's tilt is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
