Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
The season may be over but the accolades keep rolling in for Albuquerque Isotopes slugger Mitch Jones, who has been named to the Topps Triple-A All-Star Team, which singles out the best at each position among the 30 teams that make up Minor League Baseball's Triple-A classification. The team is annually selected by the Topps Company of New York, N.Y., in conjunction with Minor League Baseball.
Jones, who also won the Joe Bauman Home Run Award for the most homers in Minor League Baseball with 35, was named as the squad's Designated Hitter after finishing the 2009 season with a.297 batting average. The slugger also became just the second player in Isotopes history to reach the 100 RBI plateau after driving in 103 runs.
The native of Orem, Utah, is one of six Pacific Coast League players to be singled out for the prestigious All-Star honor, which consists of just 10 spots, a player at each position, including pitcher and Designated Hitter. For a list of the complete team, please visit www.milb.com.
