Kharin Earns Plus Performer

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, announce forward Anton Kharin has been named the AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for October.

Kharin, who had a plus/minus rating of +9 in October, shares the award with Idaho Steelheads rookie forward Evan Barlow.

Currently on the 21-Day IR, Kharin dished out a team-high seven assist in the first month of the season and was even or better in all of the K-Wings seven games in October.

After spending the past three seasons playing for Division I powerhouse Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), this is Kharin's first full season of professional hockey. Kharin received a taste of the pro ranks late last season, when he produced 15 points (5 goals, 10 assists) in 10 games with the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League (IHL).

Kalamazoo will continue their three-game road swing with the middle contest of the trip this Saturday, November 7th with a 7:05 p.m. encounter against the Gwinnett Gladiators.

The K-Wings will return to Wings Stadium Friday, November 13th with a 7:30 p.m. encounter versus the Cincinnati Cyclones. The game on November 13th will also be the K-Wings first Frugal Fan Friday, which features $1 beer and $1 hot dogs.
