
Beckford-Tseu Recalled After Posting Shutout; Everblades Sign Ferguson

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades announced that goaltender Chris Beckford Tseu has been recalled by Rochester of the American Hockey League. The Everblades have also signed forward Simon Ferguson and he was subsequently loaned to Syracuse (AHL).
Beckford Tseu started the last two games for Florida posting a 1-0-1 record securing three of a possible four points for the Blades. Last night, the Toronto Ontario native stopped 28 shots to post his and the team's first shutout of the season. In three outings with Florida this season, Beckford-Tseu has a 1-1-1 record with a 2.59 goals against average and .912 save percentage.
The Florida Everblades also signed forward Simon Ferguson. The Edmonton Alberta native spent last season with the AHL's San Antonio Rampage. In 73 games, Ferguson tallied five goals and five assists with 203 minutes in penalties. The 6-foot, 210-pound right winger has appeared in 52 ECHL games with Greenville and Augusta in his professional career. He scored 10 goals, 32 assists for 42 points and accumulated 248 penalty minutes. In total in his professional career, Ferguson has appeared in 338 games and scored 41 goals, 79 assists for 120 points and racked up 823 minutes in penalties.
Prior to turning pro, Ferguson appeared in 683 games with Lethbridge and Kelowna of the Western Hockey League. During each season from 1999-2004, he posted over 100 penalty minutes in each season. In 683 WHL games played, the 26-year-old scored 153 goals, 146 assists for 299 points and posted 915 penalty minutes.
The Florida Everblades finish up their three-game road trip tonight against the Gwinnett Gladiators. This is the first regular season meeting between the two clubs.
