Wranglers Sign Forward Ryan Weston

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Ryan Weston for the 2009-10 season. The Wranglers also announced that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Craig Switzer, who was previously acquired in a trade.

Weston, a Henniker, NH native, will be entering his second full professional season, and first with Las Vegas. In the 2008-09 season, Weston tallied nine goals and seven assists, in 63 games for the AHL's Albany River Rats. The 25-year-old forward appeared in 146 games over a four year career at Boston University, from 2004 to 2008. From 2004 to 2006, Weston was teammates with former Wranglers defenseman Dan Spang at BU.

The Wranglers also announced that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Craig Switzer. Las Vegas previously acquired the rights to the 24-year-old defenseman on August 14th, 2009, in a trade with the Elmira Jackals for the rights to forward Tim Spencer. Switzer posted 17 points in 64 games for the Jackals last season. The 6'1 Peachland, British Columbia, native was selected in the ninth round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Nashville Predators.

The Las Vegas Wranglers® are the ECHL affiliate to the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes, and the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage.

The Wranglers open the 2009-10 season at home on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 7:05 PM against Utah. 2009-10 season seat packages are on sale now at (702) 471-PUCK. The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at the Orleans Arena, located adjacent to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue.
