Revolution's Dube earns MLS Player of the Week honors

August 24, 2009 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - New England Revolution News Release

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - New England Revolution forward Kheli Dube was voted Major League Soccer's player of the week following his three-goal performance in the Revolution's 3-1 victory over Real Salt Lake at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 23. The Major League Soccer player of the week is selected each week by a panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR).

Dube's hat trick was the first of his career and included his fourth, fifth and team co-leading sixth goals of the season. It also marked his first multiple-goal effort in his two-year career.

This is Dube's first-ever player of the week award, and the team's second of the season. Taylor Twellman earned the award following a two-goal performance, including his 100th career goal, against the New York Red Bulls on June 7.
