Mobile, Ala. - Mike Stanton finished two-for-four with two RBI while Graham Taylor picked up his seventh victory leading the Jacksonville Suns (74-43, 39-18) to a 4-1 victory over the Mobile BayBears (60-67, 23-34) in fr ont of 2,178 Sunday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Taylor (7-6) allowed a second inning run with five hits, one walk and two strikeouts over seven innings. The southpaw dealt only 72 pitches for the winning decision. Mobile starter Tom Layne (0-2) fell in the loss, giving up four runs, three earned, over five and one-thirds innings. Matt Peterson (31) saved the game, setting a new franchise record for saves.
