Ports host Office Space Night, Scout Night, and Fireworks Night

STOCKTON, Calif. - Following a crucial road trip with stops at Visalia and San Jose, the Stockton Ports begin their second homestand of the month of August with a six-game homestand against North Division rivals Modesto and San Jose. The Ports will take on the Modesto Nuts from August 18-20, with each game beginning at 7:05 p.m. The Ports will also face the San Jose Giants from August 21-23, with the games on Friday and Saturday starting at 7:05 p.m. The final game of the homestand will start at 6:05 p.m.

Promotions and Special Events:

Two for Tuesdays: Tuesday, August 18, is a Kraft Singles Tuesday. Fans can redeem one Kraft Singles package wrapper to get one ticket free, courtesy of Kraft, when they purchase one ticket to any Tuesday home game. The buy-one, get-one free ticket deal is good for the Field Box and MVP Sections, and is based on availability.

Wednesday Fun: August 19 is a Medcore HP Silver Sluggers Wednesday at the ballpark, and members of the Medcore HP Silver Sluggers club can gain free entrance to the 7:05 p.m. game. All fans can play Baseball Bingo, presented by Food 4 Less and Rancho San Miguel Markets, for fun prizes, including a $100 gift certificate to Food 4 Less and Rancho San Miguel Markets. Food 4 Less will also give a free burrito to each person in a lucky row at the game.

Office Space Night on Thirsty Thursday: Thursday, August 20, is another Thirsty Thursday at Banner Island Ballpark. At each Thursday home game, 16 oz. beverages are only $2.00 (Domestic drafts served until 8:00 p.m.), presented by KWIN 97.7 & 98.3 FM.

The Stockton Ports will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the release of the film, "Office Space." The classic celluloid capture of cubicle life will be honored with film clips, quotations from the movie, and other fun in-game entertainment on August 20. If you find a red Swingline stapler, be sure to let a front office member know-someone was looking for it.

Ports Support Community with Food Drive: Also on Thursday, August 20, the Ports will be hosting a food drive. The Ports have partnered with News10 to be a donation site for the News10 Hero Central Food Drive. All fans are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items and to be a hero to the hungry families in the Stockton and San Joaquin Community.

Scout Night: On Friday, August 21 the Ports will welcome all area Boy Scouts to enjoy a game and sleepover at Banner Island Ballpark by camping in the outfield overnight as part of Boy Scout Night. For just $20, fans can purchase a special package which features a ticket to the game, a Boy Scout patch, a meal and the opportunity to camp out at the stadium. The Ports are also offering two other Boy Scout Night packages, including a $15 package which includes a ticket to the game, the Boy Scout Night patch, a hot dog and a soda, as well as a $7 package which includes a ticket and the Boy Scout Night Patch. Scouts can participate in a pre-game parade around the field as well. All boy scouts can enjoy a movie from the video board while they camp out in the outfield. The first 1,000 kids that night will also receive a Ports whiffle ball and bat set, courtesy of Valley Air District.

The Ports will also host their final Business Expo of the season on Friday, August 21. Area businesses will have representatives at business booths along the concourse of Banner Island Ballpark.

Saturday Night's All Right: The Ports will host post-game fireworks on Saturday, courtesy of Food 4 Less. Fans are invited to enjoy a great rivalry match-up between the Ports and San Jose Giants at 7:05 p.m. that night, and to stick around to see the Downtown Stockton skyline lit by beautiful fireworks.

Bark in the Park: The Ports will be hosting their second Bark in the Park event of the season on Sunday, August 23. Dog lovers will be able to bring their furry best friend to Banner Island Ballpark, and each furry friend present will receive a free ticket with a paid owner's ticket. Dog owners and their dogs will have their own entrance and own seating area for the game. Dogs and their owners are invited to parade around the field pre-game.

Welcome "Black Jack" McDowell: The Stockton Ports are proud to welcome Jack McDowell, three-time Major League All-Star and 1993 American League Cy Young winner to Banner Island Ballpark on Sunday, August 23. McDowell will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and sign autographs for free for fans at the 6:05 p.m. game against San Jose.

Additionally, Sunday, August 23, will feature several weekly promotions. Fans can pick up vouchers for $1 Home Run Hill Tickets from Metro PCS located in College Square, good for all Sunday home games. Every Sunday is also Autograph Sunday, where fans have the opportunity to get select Ports players' autographs before the game. Members of the Everyday Eddie's Kids Club, presented by Subway, also get in free to all Sunday home games. Also kids can run the bases after the game every Sunday.

The ticket office at the stadium will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during the season on non-game days. During the season on Monday through Friday game days, the ticket office will be open from 9 a.m. until the end of the game. On weekend game days, the ticket office will be open from 10 a.m. until the end of the game.

Broadcasting:

On the Television: The Ports game on Friday, August 21 will be televised on the new regional Comcast Hometown Network (Channel 104 for Comcast customers). Fans can tune in at 7:00 p.m. to catch Stockton in action against San Jose. Zack Bayrouty will call the play-by-play for the game for Comcast. On the Radio: Every Ports game can be heard on KSTN 1420 AM, the home of the Stockton Ports, this season. Zack Bayrouty, the Voice of the Ports, will be calling the play-by-play for his third season this year.
