[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] - The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that the club has re-signed forward Rob Sich. He is the second player under contract for the 2009-10 campaign, joining player/assistant coach Corey Hessler. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Sich, a 6'0'', 200-pound winger from Windsor, Ontario joins the club for his 4th season. For his career with the FireAntz, he is the club's all-time leading goal scorer (98) and leads the franchise in total points (195). Last season he set a club record, netting 40 goals.

The 2006-07 Regular Season Most Valuable Player of the SPHL will enter camp with higher expectations than in years past.

"It's very important to get Rob, our leading goal scorer, back for the upcoming season." Head Coach Tommy Stewart added, "It's his 4th year with the team and he will have more responsibility as a leader. He has been, and will be, a tremendous asset to this hockey club."

The FireAntz kick off the 2009-10 season in October. Check the FireAntz website at www.fireantzhockey.com for the complete FireAntz schedule.
