Arkansas Travelers News Release
NORTH LITTLE ROCK - The Arkansas Travelers and Frisco RoughRiders never took the field for their series opener Sunday as a rainstorm hit Dickey-Stephens Park about 15 minutes before the scheduled first pitch at 6 p.m. The field crew pulled the tarp at 5:45 and never removed it, while rain flooded both dugouts. Officials made the postponement announcement at 6:25, opting for a Monday doubleheader that will begin at 5:30 p.m.
The Travs (3-6, 31-48) and RoughRiders (4-5, 37-43) will play two seven-inning affairs tomorrow, weather-permitting, with Sunday's starters Tim Kiely (1-1, 5.66 ERA) and lefthander Michael Ballard (2-4, 4.86) pushed back to game one Monday. A pair of lefties will start in game two, Arkansas's Barret Browning (0-7, 4.03) and Frisco's Kasey Kiker (4-5, 3.00).
