Toronto - Do you want to impress the men in your life with your football knowledge? Do you feel left out during football season when all the guys flock to the stadium or the sports bar? If so, then Football 101 is for you. With Football 101, women have the opportunity to make the transformation from "football widows" to football fans and prove that football is not just a guy's game.

Football 101, designed to teach women the fundamentals of football in a fun, relaxed atmosphere, returns for the 2009 season in a variety of locations. Participants will learn about the rules of the game, player positions, football terminology and Argonauts team history. They will receive first-hand instruction from current and former Argonauts players such as alumnus Chuck Winters, quarterback Kerry Joseph, and linebacker Willie Pile.

"I started to play football when I was a kid. This amazing game provided me with the successes I've attained in my life," said Argo alumnus and event co-host Chuck Winters. "Women should come out to Football 101 to learn about this game that has helped shape my life and learn about what it takes to be a pro athlete. Now women can get the tools they need to develop the passion for football that the men in their lives already have."

For a price of $99, participants will receive a playbook containing all of the information covered in class, a DVD with step-by-step instructions, a Wilson football to use for autographs, finger foods from Jack Astor's Bar & Grill, an Estee Lauder gift bag, one Bronze 100-level game ticket and a certificate of completion.

Football 101 will take place at four different Jack Astor's Bar & Grill locations. Registration begins at 6:00 p.m. For those who leave Football 101 eager to learn even more about the game, Football 102 will be offered later in the season and will provide in-depth football analysis and video breakdown.
