
Grizzlies Season Ends With Loss To Alaska

West Valley City, Utah - The Alaska Aces defeated the Utah Grizzlies 5-2 Saturday night at the E-Center to win the best-of-seven playoff series four games to one.
The game was scoreless until the 3:23 mark of the third period when Vladimir Nikiforov knocked in a rebound for his third goal in three nights and Utah had a short lived 1-0 lead. Mike Mole stopped the first 39 shots he saw before the Aces tied the game at one 1:35 after Utah took their lead. The Aces then started a stretch of four goals in 5:40 to build a 4-1 lead. Utah answered at 11:29 to make to the score 4-2 on a James Sixsmith goal before Alaska added an empty-netter with 29 seconds left and 5-2 was the final.
Mike Mole tied a season-high making 43 saves in the game.
