Trenton Devils News Release

TRENTON, N.J., (March 18, 2009) - The Trenton Devils have announced that Judah Friedlander, the actor who wore a Trenton Devils Jersey in the Oscar-nominated film The Wrestler, will participate in a ceremonial puck drop prior to the team's contest with the Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday, March 21 at 7:00 p.m.

It was almost two years ago when the Trenton Devils received a phone call from an associate producer of an upcoming film being directed by multi-award winner Darren Aronofsky. That film would become the Oscar and Golden Globe nominated film "The Wrestler". The producer was calling the Devils to ask permission for a character in the film to wear a Trenton Devils jersey. The film takes place and was shot on location throughout New Jersey.

Judah Friedlander, best known for his role as the trucker hat-wearing Frank on NBC's hit comedy "30 Rock", came up with the idea to wear the New Jersey Devils farm team's sweater. "The script called for the character Scott to wear a Mets jersey," Friedlander said. "I told them 'Hey, this film takes place in New Jersey, Scott should wear something from New Jersey.' I thought it would be cool to wear a minor league team's jersey and I knew just the one to wear."

Fans will not only get to see Judah drop the puck, they will also get to see him up close, as Judah will sign autographs through the first intermission on Sovereign Bank Arena's main concourse.

This will be Judah's first appearance at SBA, but will return to the area on April 4th when he takes the stage at Philadelphia's TLA to perform his stand-up comedy routine. Tickets for the game are available by visiting the Trenton Devils official website, www.trentondevils.com or by calling (609) 599-9500.
