Bucks Host Ice Rays Sunday In Key Game

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks will return home Sunday to take on the Corpus Christi Ice Rays on TAMIU Day at the LEC. The first 1,500 fans get a TAMIU Day T-shirt, and all TAMIU students, faculty, staff and alumni can purchase $5 tickets to the game.Call 718-BUCK (2825). The Bucks will wear special St. Paddy's Day Jersey's that will be auctioned off after the game.Game time is 4pm.

The Bucks enter Sunday's game looking to get back on the right track, as they are on a three-game winless streak (0-2-1).

Laredo is looking to hold onto the third seed in the Southern Conference Playoffs, as Rio Grande Valley is just four points back of the Bucks. The Killer Bees are in Arizona Saturday night.

The Bucks slid continued Friday night when the Bucks fell in Odessa 3-1. Laredo took a 1-0 lead in the second period but gave up three straight goals (two in the third period) to fall to 0-3 against the Jackalopes this season.

Brent Cullaton has a two-game goal streak to increase his team-leading point total to 69 (19-50=68). Cullaton is tied for fifth in the CHL in scoring.

After Sunday's game Laredo will head out on a four-game road trip, starting Tuesday morning in Rio Grande Valley.

The Ice Rays are chasing the final playoff spot in the Southern Conference, entering play Sunday in the sixth spot.

Corpus was shutout 3-0 at Texas Friday night, to put the Ice Rays 3-3-1 under new Head Coach Brent Hughes.

Chris Richards leads the Ice Rays in scoring with 68 points (26-42=68).
