Lake Erie Crushers News Release

Avon, OH - Desired skills: Quick on their feet, multi-talented and willing to work hard. No, the Lake Erie Crushers are not advertising for new players. The newest expansion team in the Frontier League is scouting for college students and recent graduates, who are passionate about working in the sports industry to fill several internship positions for the summer 2009 term.

Interns will get an inside look at the business of baseball, gaining valuable experience in all areas of a professional sport team's front office operations, including ticketing, sales, marketing, media relations, promotions and merchandising.

"This is not your typical internship," says General Manager, Ryan Gates. "Interns will work long hours, nights and even weekends depending on our game schedule. The upside however is that they will receive a true hands-on experience in all areas of a professional sports team front office, making them a valuable, well-rounded candidate when they enter the work force and possibly the sports industry full-time. It is going to be a lot of work, but it is also going to incredibly fun and rewarding."

The team is offering specialized internships in ticketing and operations as well as a general internship that will rotate through various departments throughout the season. Some of the projects they will be working on include writing stories for the webpage and program, planning promotional nights and organizing player and mascot appearances.

This internship is a full-time seasonal position. Interested candidates can submit their cover letter and resume online at the team's website www.LakeErieCrushers.com or at www.TeamWorkOnline.com. The deadline for applying is Friday, February 13.

The Lake Erie Crushers are the newest expansion team in the Frontier League, an independent professional baseball league with 12 teams throughout the Midwest. The team will open its Inaugural Season on June 2, 2009 in a new 5,000 capacity ballpark located at the intersection of I-90 and Route 611. Season tickets are on sale now! For more information on tickets, promotions and team news, visit the team website at www.LakeErieCrushers.com or call 440-934-3636.
