RiverHawks schedule press conference for Thursday

LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks have scheduled a press conference for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14 at the Clocktower Resort, 7801 E. State St.

The RiverHawks will make several major announcements regarding the 2008 Frontier League All-Star Game, including the itinerary for the two-day festivities; additional events, including one featuring former major-league players; the television broadcast of the game; and a mayoral proclamation.

RiverHawks general manager Josh Olerud, Frontier League commissioner Bill Lee and a representative from the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau will be among those present and available for comment.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 17th season in 2009. The RiverHawks will begin their eighth season in May and host the 2009 Frontier League All-Star Game at 7:05 p.m. on July 15.
