Freedom G.M. Appointed to Advisory Committee for University of Cincinnati

Florence, KY - Kari Rumfield, General Manager of the Florence Freedom, has been appointed to the advisory committee for the University of Cincinnati's Sports Administration program. The advisory committee will help the department with curriculum issues as well as help with co-op placements and fundraising.

The committee is composed of 11 members from other Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati area sports teams such as the Bengals and the Reds. "It is a huge honor to be asked to serve on this committee and I look forward to helping both the University and the students achieve their goals," Rumfield said.

This is Rumfield's second season as the GM of the Freedom, and her 7th year in professional baseball.

The Freedom have also hired Johnathan Simon as the Sales Manager and Shawn Cox and the Promotions Manager. Simon graduated from Xavier University in 2007 with his Masters in Sports Administration. Cox is a graduate from NKU with a degree in Public Administration.

Other changes in the Freedom front office include Elizabeth Quatman being promoted to the Director of Corporate Sales. Quatman was previously a Senior Account Executive with the Freedom and is a 2003 graduate of Shawnee State. Stephen Mace was also promoted to the Director of Stadium Operations. Mace was previously an intern with the Freedom and last season was the Mascot Coordinator. Mace graduated from Thomas More College with a degree in Sports Entertainment Marketing.

Florence Freedom is a member of the Frontier League, a 12-team Independent Professional Baseball League established in 1993. The Freedom play a 96 game schedule with 48 home games between late May and early September.
