LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (November 10, 2008) - The Little Rock School District was recently awarded a grant in the amount of $79,500 from the Baseball Tomorrow Fund (BTF). The grant will support Kanis Park and provide funding for field lights. The field lighting equipment will be provided at a significant discount through a partnership between BTF and Musco Lighting, Inc., a leader in the sports lighting industry.

The Little Rock School District and the Parks Department for the city of Little Rock have partnered to turn Kanis Park into a top notch baseball field. In addition to new lights, new fencing and dugouts have been added.

"This is a wonderful opportunity, not only for our program, but for the children who play the game," says Johnny Johnson, athletic director for the Little Rock School District. "We are deeply indebted to the Baseball of Tomorrow Fund providing the funds to complete this project."

"On behalf of the Baseball Tomorrow Fund and Mucso Lighting, Inc., we thank the Little Rock School District and the City of Little Rock for their commitment to youth baseball and softball in the community. We are pleased to support the continued growth of this program." added Cathy Bradley, executive director of the Baseball Tomorrow Fund.

The Little Rock School District is still accepting in-kind and monetary contributions. Those interested in donating to the project may contact Johnny Johnson at 501-447-2062.
