66ers Select Chris Richard with First Pick in 2008 NBA Development League Draft

Tulsa, Okla., November 7, 2008 - The Tulsa 66ers selected Chris Richard with the first pick overall in the 2008 NBA Development League Draft. The 6-foot-9, 255-pound forward from the University of Florida won two NCAA championships while in college.

During the 2007-08 season, Richard, selected 41st overall in the 2007 NBA Draft, appeared in 52 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves. While on assignment with the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA D-League, Richard averaged a double-double of 10.2 points and 11.5 rebounds.

"We are very excited to have players of this caliber in our Training Camp," 66ers Head Coach Paul Woolpert said. "All of these men are assets to this team and our community on and off the court."

During the next three rounds, the 66ers selected local talent in former Oral Roberts University players guard Moses Ehambe, forward Yemi Ogunoye and guard Adam Liberty.

"All of the players that we are bringing in to training camp are talented players," 66ers Manager of Minor League Operations Brandon Barnett said. "We are excited to bring them to Tulsa and start camp."

The 10 players selected by the 66ers will join returning players center Keith Closs, forward Chris Ellis and guards Jeremy Kelly and Russell Carter, tryout camp invite forward Keith Clark, along with allocated players guard Terrell Everett and forward Ryan Humphrey for Training Camp. All players will arrive in Tulsa late next week as training camp is scheduled to begin on Monday, Nov. 17. Coaches will submit a final roster of 10 players on Wednesday, Nov. 26 as the 2008-09 NBA D-League regular season tips off on Friday, Nov. 28.
