The Moncton Wildcats continue to leave their mark in the history books this past weekend. This season has already seen the Wildcats break a franchise record for best start to a season. Now, on a franchise level the Wildcats have beaten their record for most consecutive road wins.
Most recently the Wildcats broke the QMJHL record for most consecutive games at the start of the season earning at least one point. The next record the Wildcats look to break is for the most consecutive road wins at the start of the season. The Wildcat's only game this week coming is in Halifax on Saturday. A win on Saturday will break the 32 year old record set by the Cornwall Royals in the 1976-77 season.
This week the Wildcats travel to Halifax Saturday. The Wildcats are 2-0 with Halifax this season. Matt Eagles, Ted Stephens and Scott Brannon lead the Wildcats in scoring with 23, 15 and 14 points respectively so far this year.

Cats ground Rocket in shoot-out The Moncton Wildcats added to their place in the QMJHL record book with a dramatic 3-2 shoot-out win over the PEI Rocket on Thursday night.
After a scoreless first period, the Rocket took the lead at 5:20 of the second on a power play goal by Chris Doyle from Mathieu Tousignant and Simon Olsson. Doyle got his second of the night at 6:01, Olsson and Jean-Philippe Mathieu set up the goal.
The Wildcats cut the lead in half at 10:59 on Brandon Gormley's 4th of the season, a power play goal from Matt Eagles and Mark Barberio.
Cats captain Matt Eagles evened the game at 15:29 of the third period with Pierre-Marc Lessard and David Savard assisting.
The five minutes of overtime failed to produce a winner but the tie gave the Wildcats a point in 17 consecutive games, the longest in the history of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
In the shootout, the first five shooters failed to score; it was PEI native Randy Cameron's goal against Bobby Nadeau on Moncton's third effort gave the home team the big win.
Shots on goal were 46 by the Wildcats, 25 for the Rocket. PEI was 2 for 8 on the power-play while Moncton went 1 for 6.
Game stars were Scott Brannon of the Cats getting the third star, Chris Doyle of the Rocket was star number two, and Matt Eagles of the Wildcats with a goal and assist was named the first star.
Saturday November 1st vs Halifax Moncton Coliseum 7:00PM GAME NOTES:
Record grows as Cats down Mooseheads 6-2. The Moncton Wildcats continue to rewrite the QMJHL record book, now scoring a point in 18 consecutive games.
The Cats dominated the visiting Halifax Mooseheads with their 6-2 win on Saturday night. Moncton scored 3 goals in just over 3 minutes in the first period, the first two coming on the power play. Simon Jodoin scored his first of the season at 10:33 with Matthew Bissonnette and Matt Brown getting the assists. Brown netted his 5th of the year at 13:01, Jodoin and David Savard set up the goal. Scott Brannon made it 3-0 at 14:08 with a bullet shot from the right wing, Brandon Gormley and Zach Sill assisted. The Mooseheads rounded out the scoring at 19:24 when Chad Earle scored from Matthew Snow and Gabriel O'Connor.
The teams traded goals in the second, Savard with his 3rd of the year for the Cats from Brannon and Jodoin, another power-play marker. Alexis Piette scored 40 seconds later for Halifax from Chad Earle.
The Wildcats put the game out of reach at 14:20 of the third with Matt Lahey's 4th from Randy Cameron and Savard. Matt Eagles got his team leading 11th for Moncton at 16:24 from Pierre-Marc Lessard, to insure the victory.
Shots on goal favored the Wildcats 52-29 while the Cats were 3 for 5 with the man advantage; the Mooseheads were 0 for 1.
The games three stars belonged to Moncton, Matt Brown was the third, David Savard the second and Simon Jodoin was star number one.
