BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, November 3, 2008 - Shawinigan Cataractes forward Philippe Paradis and P.E.I. Rocket netminder Bobby Nadeau today were named the TELUS offensive and defensive players of the week for the period extending from October 27 to November 2.

In four contests, Paradis registered seven assists as well as a +4 rating. Moreover, he dished out serious punishment on the fore-check, collecting fourteen bodychecks. The forward enjoyed his best game of the week on Tuesday against the Titan, recording an assist on both the game-tying and game-winning goals. The Cataractes have won ten consecutive games, three shy of the franchise record.

Danick Paquette (MAINEiacs), Mikhail Stefanovich (Remparts) and Chris Doyle (Rocket) were also considered.

The defensive player of the week is Bobby Nadeau. The goaltender enabled the Rocket to collect five out of a possible six points in the standings thanks to two wins and a shootout loss. He allowed only six goals despite facing 112 shots, posting a 1.95 goals-against-average and .949 save percentage. P.E.I. has been playing solid hockey for the past few weeks and sits in fourth place in the Atlantic division standings.

Timo Pielmeier (Cataractes), Charles-Olivier Roussel (Cataractes) and David Savard (Wildcats) were also strong candidates.
