
Griffins to Host First of 15 Dollar Beers, Dollar Dogs Nights

Time: 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena (doors open at 6 p.m.).

Dollar Beers, Dollar Dogs: This game will mark the return of the ever-popular dollar beers, dollar dogs promotion. On the first of 15 such nights throughout this season, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $1 domestic drafts from 6-8 p.m., while supplies last.
College Night: Presented by McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon, college students can visit the arena box office to purchase a lower bowl ticket for just $10 with a valid student ID. While at the game, show your ID at the McFadden's concourse table to pick up a free pass to the post-game party, which is good for no line or cover charge and drink specials.
Library Night: Fans who present a public library card from the Grand Rapids Public Library or Kent District Library at the arena box office can purchase a lower bowl ticket for just $10 (limit four per card).
Get Pumped!: Presented by Marathon, fans can receive a special ticket discount based on the national average price of a gallon of gasoline. Valid for tickets in sections 101, 102 and 128.

A Fun Field Trip: Presented by Lake Michigan Credit Union, the Griffins will welcome over 6,000 students and teachers from schools across the state for their eighth annual matinee game.
Education and Hockey: Beginning at 10 a.m., a Healthy Goals for Life-themed educational event will take place. Local medical and health professionals will share with elementary and middle school students the importance of a healthier lifestyle, through interactive displays set up in the banquet rooms and on the concourse. These displays will focus on physical activity, rest and nutrition. Meanwhile, high school students will attend a career forum in the bowl of the arena. This year's speakers include: Dr. Marsha Rappley (Dean of Human Medicine at MSU), Dr. Steve Triezenberg (Scientific Investigator and Dean of the VAI graduate schools program) and Vicki Smith (Lake Michigan Credit Union). Following the educational part of the morning, all students will cheer on the Griffins as they battle the Houston Aeros.
Discount Tickets: Fans can purchase $5 upper bowl tickets in advance by calling 774-4585 ext. 3049 (not valid at the box office). Tickets admit fans to the educational event at 10 a.m. as well as the Griffins game at noon.
