
Worcester Sharks Host Monarchs On Saturday

WORCESTER, MA- Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr has announced that the Sharks will host "Fitchburg Night" at the DCU Center in Worcester on Saturday, November 1st at 7:05p.m. vs. the Manchester Monarchs. Residents of Fitchburg will receive a discounted ticket with valid identification at the DCU Center Box Office.
Fitchburg Mayor, Lisa Wong, will drop the ceremonial puck drop before the start of the game at 7:05 p.m. against the Sharks rivals, the Manchester Monarchs.
The Twin City Hawks will host an open organization skate prior to the Sharks game and sell chuck-a-pucks to raise funds for the organization. Five youth hockey players will skate out with the Sharks for the starting lineup prior to the game. Earlier this month, the Sharks hosted a preseason game and a "Skate with the Sharks" at the Wallace Civic Center in Fitchburg.
"The Sharks would like to welcome our neighbors to our north to enjoy Sharks hockey," said Lehr. We felt that it was important to host an exhibition game and a "Skate with the Sharks" in Fitchburg. I would like to thank Mayor Lisa Wong, the Sentinel and Enterprise, and the Twin City Hawks for their participation."
Also in attendance, will be over 100 girl scouts competing in a troop banner contest with the fans voting for the best Sharks' banner during the second intermission.
All fans entering the building will be given a ballot to vote for the next Sharks next bobblehead doll to be given away on March 7th.
Bobbleheads, live entertainment, autographed collector's cards, poster schedule, post-game skate, specialty jersey auctions, and All-Star festivities will be among the premium promotions available during the Worcester Sharks third season. The Sharks travel to Hartford (Friday, Oct. 31st), and return home for two more games against Manchester (Saturday, Nov. 1st) and Portland (Wednesday, Nov. 5th) at the DCU Center.
