Comiskey and Beaton team up for success

October 15, 2008 - Canadian Football League (CFL) Edmonton Eskimos

(Edmonton) Veteran offensive lineman Dan Comiskey and former Eskimo offensive lineman Bruce Beaton launch their book, "The Truth About Success" on Friday, October 17, 2008.

"The Truth About Success" explores the pathways people follow to find success in business and in life. "You'll find that people don't just fall into success," says co-author Dan Comiskey. "You don't fall onto the top of a mountain; you have to climb that mountain. You have to do that by using correct systems and that's what this book tells you; what those systems are and how to find the systems that you need. As well, the book gives you great instruction on how to find and obtain your goals."

Both Comiskey and Beaton have shared much success on and off the field. Teammates with the Edmonton Eskimos from 2002-'05, they have seen three trips to the Grey Cup together, two of which the Eskimos won. Comiskey and Beaton carried their bond off the field and brought it into their professional lives. Together they built two mid size real estate companies, started Goal Setters, a company designed to help people maximize their potential, and co-wrote "The Truth About Success."

All proceeds made from the book will go directly to the Kidney Foundation of Canada in the name of Dan's daughter, Lauren Comiskey. Lauren suffered multiple organ failure after complications at birth. Lauren's chance for survival was slim but she defied the odds. Lauren's kidney's, which suffered the most damage of all her organs, inexplicably improved from 25% overall function to as high as 40%. Her kidneys this year have maintained 30%-35% function, surprising her doctors as she has continued to avoid dialysis. Despite her courageous battle, Lauren, 3 years of age, will need a kidney transplant to survive.
