Toronto Argonauts News Release

Toronto -.It is a battle of the East on Saturday as the Argos, still on a quest for a playoff spot, take on the first place Montreal Alouettes at 3:00 p.m. at Rogers Centre. The game, presented by Purolator, features the Purolator Tackle Hunger program as representatives from Purolator and Daily Bread Food Bank will be located at every gate of Rogers Centre, collecting cash and food donations to help alleviate hunger in the GTA. In return for a donation, fans will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Grey Cup.

Families are encouraged to come early as the Nissan Tailgate Party kicks off at 1:00 p.m. in the Bremner St. parking lot. Generation A Kids Zone featuring the RONA interactive inflatable will be located beside the Tailgate Party outside Gate 8 of Rogers Centre.

As part of the Argos new partnership with the Toronto District School Board to help support and grow grassroots football in the GTA, including education and mentorship, TDSB football coaches will be attending a special Roundtable Discussion with CEO Michael "Pinball" Clemons and GM/Vice President, Football Operations, Adam Rita prior to the game. Additionally, two high school football matchups will take place at Rogers Centre beginning at 6:30 p.m., following the Argos-Als contest, featuring Norwood District High School vs. Campbellford High School, followed by Eastview Secondary School vs. Barrie Central Collegiate.

The national anthem will be performed by members of the Canadian Armed Forces and the Colour Guard. The Generation A Cheerleaders will be featured at halftime, along with a special halftime dog show sponsored by Milk-Bone. The Alouettes Cheerleaders will also be featured on-field throughout the game.

700 Girl Guides will be in attendance on Saturday in the first annual Girl Guides Day. The Girl Guides will be selling cookies before and after the game. Fans can purchase an extra box to donate to the Purolator Tackler Hunger program to support two good causes at once.

The Toronto Argonauts are pleased to offer a Peanut-Reduced Suite at Rogers Centre for this game only. This exclusive section, located in the Summit Suite at Rogers Centre, is devoted to families and friends who live with peanut, nut or other severe allergies. Tickets are only $45 including taxes.

Following the game, Boatmen supporters can head down to the field and get some player and cheerleader autographs as the popular See You on the Field returns. Have members of the Argos Cheerleaders sign their new 2009 calendar. The festivities will continue at the official post-game party at Jack Astor's, 144 Front Street West featuring live music, drink specials and the opportunity to meet your favourite Argos players and cheerleaders.
