
Giants Defeat T-Birds

Vancouver, October 3, 2008 - The Vancouver Giants defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 10-2 Friday night at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver.
The T-Birds home opener is scheduled for Saturday night against the Spokane Chiefs at 7:05 p.m. at KeyArena.
Former Seattle Totem Guyle Fielder will be honored in a pre-game ceremony to acknowledge his recent induction into the Washington Sports Hall of Fame. Fielder will be presented with a gift from the T-Birds and will drop the ceremonial first puck for the team's last home opener at Seattle Center. The T-Birds will be moving south to their new home, the Kent Events Center in midseason.
T-Birds season tickets are currently on sale. Season tickets can be purchased by calling the T-Birds office at 253-239-7825. Purchasing a season ticket will ensure fans can attend the T-Birds first game in their new home, the Kent Events Center.
The Giants scored three goals in the first period, four goals in the second period and three goals in the third period.
David Richard scored his third goal of the year at 11:45 of the third period to get the T-Birds on the board. Brad Haber had the only assist on the goal.
Sena Acolatse scored his first goal of the year at 16:36 of the third for Seattle's second goal. Stefan Warg and Richard had the assists on the goal which came just after a Seattle power play ended.
