
Indians Drop Game One of NWLCS

SPOKANE, WA - The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes got off to a great start and never looked back, despite a three run inning by the Indians in the 7th that pulled the Indians within two runs. Salem-Keizer went on to win the game 5-3, taking game one of the best-of-five Northwest League Championship Series.
Spokane was down 5-0 going into the bottom of the 7th before David Paisano singled to right field to score Jared Bolden to give the Indians their first run. Designated hitter Eric Fry then belted a home run into the Grotto to bring the Indians within two, but Spokane was unable to close the gap in the last few innings.
Indians starter Wilfredo Boscan went five innings and picked up the loss. Boscan gave up seven hits and four runs while walking one. Volcanoes starter Andy Reichard pitched 5.1 innings, allowing just three hits and no runs while striking out four.
The Indians return to Avista Stadium tomorrow for game two of the Northwest League Championship Series presented by Pizza Pipeline. The remaining games of the series will be played in Keizer, Ore.
