Bears Beat Dust Devils 6-2 in Season Finale

(Pasco, WA) - Ryan Cook pitched six dominant innings, and Brendan Duffy led the way offensively with three hits as the Yakima Bears beat the Tri-City Dust Devils 6-2 in the 2008 season finale at Gesa Stadium Wednesday night.

Duffy went 3-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and an RBI. Cook allowed just two hits and one run with three strikeouts to improve to 2-2 for the season. Jason Durst pitched 2.1 innings of scoreless relief with one hit and one strikeout for his third save.

The Bears took the first lead of the game on an error in the fourth to take a 1-0 lead. Yakima then scored scoring four in the fifth on a David Cooper RBI groundout, an RBI single by Duffy, a passed ball, and Alfredo Marte's RBI single.

Scott Robinson put Tri-City on the board in the fifth with a solo homerun, but Yakima got that run back in the sixth on Jhoan Pimentel's RBI single.
