(Seattle, WA) - The Seattle Sounders will host the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final at Qwest Field should the Sounders beat the Charleston Battery (USL-1) in the semi-finals on August 12.

The winner of the match between the Sounders and Battery will move on to play the winner of the second semi-final match (August 12) between D.C United and the New England Revolution, both of Major League Soccer.

"We're ecstatic to have the chance to host the U.S. Open Cup final in what is the final USL season for the Sounders," said Sounders general manager Bart Wiley. "Of course, we have work to do and a tough game in Charleston but we're confident we can get back to Qwest and play an Open Cup final."

For the first time since 1999, the U.S. Open Cup final will feature a team that is not from Major League Soccer. In 1999, the A-league Rochester Rhinos beat the Colorado Rapids 2-0 to win the title.
