FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The newly-crowned SuperLiga 2008 champion New England Revolution will return to MLS regular-season action for the first time in over a month this weekend, as the club will host the Eastern Conference rival Chicago Fire on Saturday, Aug. 9, at Gillette Stadium. TV38 (and Cox3 in Rhode Island) will televise the game live beginning at 7:30 p.m., while HDNet will carry the game nationally in high definition.

New England (10-4-3, 33 pts.), which overcame Houston in a thrilling penalty shootout to claim the SuperLiga title on Tuesday night at Gillette Stadium, currently sits atop the MLS standings despite having played a league-low 17 games. However, Chicago isn't far off the pace, as the Fire (8-5-5, 29 pts.) boasts the third-highest point total in both the Eastern Conference and MLS.

The match will be the third and final meeting between the two sides in the 2008 regular season, and the second at Gillette Stadium. Chicago will be aiming to sweep the season series from the Revs for the first time since the Fire's inaugural season in 1998, as the club has won this season's first two contests by a combined 7-0. On Apr. 3 at Toyota Park, an early red card to Jeff Larentowicz provided Chicago an advantage, and the club went on to score four first-half goals en route to a 4-0 victory. The result was nearly identical when the teams met in Foxborough on May 3, as goals from Chris Rolfe, John Thorrington and Stephen King - plus another shutout by Jon Busch - lifted Chicago to a 3-0 win.
