Nailers Sign Aaron Clarke and Mike Gooch

WHEELING, WV. - The Wheeling Nailers announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forward Aaron Clarke and defenseman Mike Gooch.

Clarke, 5-foot-9, 185 pounds, hails from Peterborough, ONT. Last season, he suited up in 60 games for the Nailers scoring 19 goals, 17 assists for 36 points while accumulating 49 penalty minutes.

"Aaron's a tireless worker and exemplifies the type of hard working player we will have in Wheeling,$B!I(B says head coach Greg Puhalski.

Gooch, 5-foot-9, 180 pounds, joined the Nailers after completing his senior season at Neumann College. Last season Gooch saw action in 9 games producing 1 assist and 8 penalty minutes. While at Neumann College, Gooch accumulated 19 goals, 80 assists for 98 points and 143 penalty minutes.

Coach Puhalski added, $B!H(BMike plays with spirit and competes extremely hard."

Clarke and Gooch become the first two players to sign with the Nailers for the 2008-09 season.
