Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release

Sioux Falls, S.D. (June 11, 2008) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that they will continue to serve as the NBA Development League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Charlotte Bobcats for the 2008-09 season. The affiliation system allows the Timberwolves and Bobcats to assign players in their first or second season to Sioux Falls.

Sioux Falls has been affiliated with the Minnesota Timberwolves the last two seasons. While Minnesota did not assign anyone to the Skyforce during the 2006-07 season, this past season, Chris Richard, a 6-9, 270-pound rookie forward, became the first Timberwolves player ever assigned to the Skyforce and averaged 10.2 points and 11.5 rebounds in six games.

"We are very pleased to be continuing our relationship with the Sioux Falls Skyforce as our D-League affiliate," said Timberwolves Vice President of Basketball Operations Kevin McHale. "Sioux Falls is a first-class organization with great ownership and a solid coaching staff led by Nate Tibbetts. Last season, our affiliation benefited rookie Chris Richard as he was able to gain valuable playing time and experience while on assignment in Sioux Falls. The D-League continues to be a great opportunity for young players to improve all facets of their game, benefiting both the players and the NBA teams."

Sioux Falls will also continue to be affiliated with the Charlotte Bobcats for a second straight season. Charlotte has utilized the assignment system each of the last two seasons as they assigned rookie center Ryan Hollins to the Fort Worth Flyers in 2006-07 and rookie forward Jermareo Davidson to the Skyforce this past season. Davidson averaged 18.0 points and 9.8 rebounds in six games.

"We have been very pleased with our affiliation with the Sioux Falls Skyforce," said Bobcats General Manager Rod Higgins. "We believe Jermareo Davidson benefited greatly from the six games he played with them last season and that his time there helped prepare him to take on a larger role after his return to the Bobcats."

Season tickets are now on sale for the 2008-09 season. For information please contact a Skyforce representative at (605) 332-0605.
