The Moncton Wildcats made 18 picks in 12 rounds Saturday at the QMJHL entry draft held in Syndey, Nova Scotia. The Wildcats started the day with the first pick overall, which went to defenseman Brandon Gormley. They also selected goaltender Louis Boileau-Domingue 13th overall after acquiring the 1st round pick in a ! trade. In round 2, the Wildcats chose Matthew Bissonnette 20th overall. In round three, the Wildcats picked Andrew Roski, the 38th pick overall. The Wildcats picked Zach O'Brien 57th and Olivier Daoust 61st. In round five the Wildcats made four choices including Yasin Cisse 75th, Alexandre Tardif 80th, Patrick Downe 89th and Samuel Cadet 90th.
Tyler Noseworthy was picked by the Wildcats 96th overall. Julien Tremblay, Pascal Lariviere and Mathieu Mireault were picked by the Wildcats 131st, 134th and 147th overall respectively.
The final four rounds saw the final four Wildcats picks go to Jeff Bell 149th, Billy Martin 167th, Michel Querry 185th and Cole MacMillan 203rd.
In addition to new prospects the Wildcats traded goaltender Charles Lavigne to the Quebec Remparts for a 2009 pick. Defenseman Alexi Pianosi was traded to the Victoriaville Tigres for two picks in 2010.
