
Sea Dogs commit five errors but even the series at one game apiece

(Portland, ME) - Portland scored seven unanswered runs to beat the Bowie Baysox 7-5 on Saturday afternoon at Hadlock Field. The victory gives the Sea Dogs a winning homestand at 4-2 and improves their overall record to 21-14.
Chad Rhoades (2-0) tossed 2 and 1/3 scoreless innings in relief of Justin Masterson to earn the win. Rhoades yielded two hits and fanned three. Rommie Lewis (0-2) suffered the loss for Bowie, allowing the go-ahead hit in the fifth.
Hunter Jones worked two scoreless frames to earn his fourth save of the season.
Jeff Corsaletti had the game-winning RBI, smacking an RBI single in the fifth inning to snap a 5-5 tie. Corsaletti finished 3-for-4, 2 RBI and added insurance with a two-out, run-scoring double in the seventh.
Bowie led 5-0 entering the bottom of the third inning but Portland scored three times off starter Kyle Schmidt. The 'Dogs added two runs off reliever Ryan Keefer in the fourth inning on a bases loaded walk by Mark Wagner and hit-by-pitch on Aaron Bates. Keefer lasted a 1/3 of an inning, issuing four walks and five baserunners.
Andrew Pinckney had two hits and knocked in a run during Portland's 3-run third inning. Mickey Hall was 2-for-3 with 2 doubles and 3 runs scored.
Kennard Jones delivered a 2-run single in Bowie's third as they scored five runs off Masterson - all were unearned. The righty lasted only 4 and 2/3 innings, surrendering six hits and four walks. Masterson failed to record a strikeout for only the second time in his career as a starter.
Portland and Bowie will play the rubber game of their 3-game set on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 PM. RHP Matt Goodson will go opposite RHP Brad Bergesen - both teams have Monday off.
Notes...OF Jered Stanley was added to Portland's roster before the game...Zach Daeges had his 10-game hitting streak snapped...Portland had a season-high 6 doubles...The Sea Dogs had RBI's from 6 of 9 starters.
