CHARLESTON- The Charleston RiverDogs, the Class-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, have added catcher Brian Baisley to their roster, the Yankees announced Sunday. Baisley will take the place of utility infielder Walter Ibarra, who has been assigned to the GCL Yankees roster.

Baisley, a career .333 hitter in his third professional season, spent 25 games with the RiverDogs in 2007, hitting .341 with two home runs and 10 RBI. The Tampa, Fla. Native had his season cut short, however, when he was placed on the disabled list on May 23 with a lower-body injury. He was transferred to the Staten Island (SS-A) roster on June 27, but did not see action.

The 6'3" backstop split time between Staten Island and the GCL Yankees in 2006, hitting .326 in 23 games with two home runs, 12 RBI, and 12 runs scored.

Ibarra has appeared in six games (five starts) thus far for the RiverDogs, who are 18-5 and sit in first place atop the South Atlantic League's (SAL) Southern Division. The Mexican native has started at both second base and shortstop this season, and has swung the stick at a .158 clip (3-for-19) with three runs scored in limited action.
