Buffalo Bisons News Release

The Cleveland Indians today recalled OF Brad Snyder from the Buffalo Bisons. It's his first promotion to the Major Leagues.

To make room on their roster, the Tribe optioned LHP Jeremy Sowers to the Bisons.

Snyder, 25, has played in 20 games with Buffalo this year and has hit .236 (17-72) with five doubles, a triple, four homeruns and 10RBI. He is tied for the team lead in homeruns and extra-base hits (10). He has six extra-base hits in his last seven games.

Snyder spent all of the 2007 season with Buffalo before a broken right thumb ended his year on July 27. He hit .263 (68-259) with 12 doubles, 10 homeruns and 35RBI in 86 games. He was also a perfect 12-12 stealing bases. It was the first time in the Bisons Modern Era a player had stolen 10 or more bases without getting caught stealing.

Snyder was a 1st round pick (18th overall) of Cleveland out of Ball State University in the 2003 First-Year Player Draft.
