(York, Pa): The York Revolution has officially announced its theme for Opening Day 2008. On Tuesday, April 29 against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, fans will be treated to plenty of BIG surprises at Sovereign Bank Stadium, the sparkling new home of the Revolution. Keeping in line with the "Go Big Or Go Home" theme, the Revolution has pulled out all the stops to make this the BIGGEST opening day, and we mean that literally.

Big Wheeley & the Whitewalls will perform on the Brooks Robinson Plaza pre-game. A live ice carving of the Revs signature "Y" logo will also take place in front of the stadium. Inside Sovereign Bank Stadium, several BIG surprises will be waiting for fans before we kick off the 2008 season, and fans are encouraged to arrive early. Gates at Sovereign Bank Stadium will open at 5 p.m. for this special night. A two-story podium will be on the field to help kick things off, that's just how big Opening Day will be.

At 7:07 p.m., the Revolution will begin their quest for the 2008 Atlantic League Championship against the Blue Crabs. And don't forget about the BIGGEST left field wall in all of baseball, Sovereign Bank Stadium's "Arch Nemesis." The wall, which is six inches taller than anything you might find inside Fenway Park, will figure prominently in the pre-game activities. The always popular Shipley Energy Team will be expanded as well to help with the festivities. Fans may also treat themselves to an array of special extra-large concession items.

During the game, the Revolution's brand new all-male performance and dance team "Stu-Pendous and The Big Hitters" will debut. Led by on-field host Stu-Pendous, the team, choreographed by Priscilla Gill of B*Dazzled Dance Studios, will perform once in-game, and again for an encore at game's end. An exciting evening will wrap up with a post-game fireworks display courtesy of Penn Waste.

Manager Chris Hoiles may also just have the BIGGEST lineup of sluggers in the Atlantic League this season. The power-hitting quartet of Jason Aspito, Matt Dryer, Matt Esquivel and Matt Padgett are a combined 24 feet 6 inches and 825 pounds in size. Expect some BIG fly balls during the game...and all season.

Limited general admission and all you can eat picnic tickets for Opening Day are still available. Call 717-801-HITS for more details.
