Sea Dogs' Host Families Needed/Ticket Office Hours Expanded

Portland, Maine- Have you ever wanted to live with a professional baseball player? Here's your chance, the Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the World Champion Boston Red Sox, are in need of host families for the 2008 season. Host families are asked to house a Sea Dogs player for little or no rent throughout their time in Portland. The Sea Dogs season runs from April through September with the players spending half that time on the road. While at home, most of the time is spent at the ballpark.

The players usually involve their host families in many of the team functions including tickets to the games. You could be living with the next Jonathan Papelbon or Jacoby Ellsbury!

If interested in housing a player, please contact Geoff Iacuessa at the Portland Sea Dogs. We will need to know what accommodations you will be able to provide and rent (if any). We are open to any type of living arrangement that you are able to provide; spare bedroom, apartment, etc. The only requirement we have is that you must be able to provide the player with his own private bedroom. We will compile a list of all interested host families and send the list to Spring Training.

Sea Dogs players come from all over the world and only arrive in Portland a few days prior to the start of the season. Unlike Major Leaguers, Minor Leaguers do not make an extraordinary amount of money, that coupled with the fact that they could be promoted, demoted, released, or traded at any moment makes it difficult to find housing in the Portland area. Please help us show the players what a wonderful place Portland, Maine can be to live.

SEA DOGS' TICKET OFFICE AND SOUVENIR STORE HOURS EXPANDED

Beginning this Saturday, March 8th the Portland Sea Dogs' Ticket Office and Souvenir Store will extend their hours to be open on Saturday's leading up to the season. Both the ticket office and souvenir store will be open on Saturday's from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The Portland Sea Dogs open their 15th season, presented by Northeast Delta Dental on April 3rd at New Britain. The home opener is slated for Friday, April 11th at 6:00 PM against the New Britain Rock Cats. Tickets for the 2008 season are now on sale and can be purchased by calling the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or online at www.seadogs.com.
