Canucks recall Rypien; re-assign Bourdon to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have recalled centre Rick Rypien and have re-assigned defenceman Luc Bourdon to the Moose.

Bourdon, 21, has appeared in 17 games with the Canucks this season where he has scored two goals. He scored his first-ever NHL goal on Nov. 16/07 vs. Minnesota. So far this season, the Shippigan, NB native has appeared in 34 games with the Moose where he's scored six goals and six assists for 12 points, as well as 64 penalty minutes. Last season, Bourdon played in nine regular-season games with the Canucks where he collected four penalty minutes, as well as five playoff games with the Moose, where he earned two penalty minutes. Bourdon was originally drafted by Vancouver in the first round, 10th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Rypien, 23, has played in nine games so far this year with the Canucks where he's scored a goal and an assist for two points and 20 penalty minutes. In his career, the Coleman, AB native has appeared in 16 NHL games - all with Vancouver - where he's scored two goals and an assist for three points and 29 penalty minutes. This year with the Moose, Rypien has three goals and 11 assists for 14 points and 72 penalty minutes in 31 games. In his career, Rypien has appeared in 102 games with the Moose where he's scored 16 goals and 21 assists for 37 points and 234 penalty minutes.
