Edmonton Oilers Recall Allan Rourke From Falcons

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that defenseman Allan Rourke has been recalled by their National Hockey League affiliate, the Edmonton Oilers. Rourke will join the Oilers for their game on Saturday against the Calgary Flames. The Falcons also announced that defenseman Bryan Young has been reassigned to Springfield by the Oilers.

In 12 games with the Falcons this season, Rourke has three goals and four assists for seven points, including two power play goals. Rourke currently leads all Springfield defensemen in scoring and is fourth overall on the team in points. The 6-foot-2, 213-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario is in his eighth professional season after splitting last year between the New York Islanders and Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Rourke was acquired by the Edmonton Oilers along with a third-round draft pick in 2008 from the New York Islanders for a second-round draft pick in 2008 on July 5, 2007. He was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the sixth round (154th overall) in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

Young was recalled by the Oilers on November 4 and played in two games with Edmonton not registering a point. In 12 games with the Falcons this year, the Ennismore, Ontario native has one assist and 12 penalty minutes.

The Falcons return to action on Friday, November 9 when they host the Lowell Devils at the MassMutual Center starting at 7:30 pm. Springfield also hosts the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday, November 10 starting at 7:00 pm.
