Moose to sport new warm-up look to salute Minor Hockey Night 2008

The Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with Hockey Manitoba and Winnipeg Minor Hockey Association, announced today they will wear 20 "community club" jerseys during warm-up prior to their game on Minor Hockey Night on February 16th, 2007 versus the Toronto Marlies. This promotion will continue next season when the Moose will in fact wear a community club-style jersey during their game on Minor Hockey Night in 2009.

This season, 10 rural community clubs and 10 Winnipeg community clubs were randomly chosen to have their current jersey patterns worn by the Moose in warm-up prior to their game versus the Marlies. Each zone from Hockey Manitoba has been represented with a team in their region. Once warm-up is over, the Moose will then put on an "old-time" Manitoba Moose "retro" jersey for their game versus the Marlies, similar to ones worn in "Old-Time Hockey Nights" previous. The 20 warm-up jerseys will be returned to their respective community club with an autograph from the Moose player who wore that jersey in warm-up.

The following 20 community clubs have been chosen for warm-up prior to the game on Minor Hockey Night, February 16th versus the Marlies:

Dakota Lazers (St. Vital) Morden (Pembina Valley)

Kirkfield Westwood (St. James) Flin Flon (Norman)

Sinclair Park Panthers (North West Winnipeg) Brandon (Brandon)

River East Royals (River East) Portage La Prairie (Central Plains)

Selkirk Fishermen (Lord Selkirk) Deloraine (Westman South)

Next season, the Moose plan to wear one lucky community club's jersey for the entire game during Minor Hockey Night 2009.

- From November 9th, 2007 to April 5th, 2008, every Moose ticket purchased (through Ticketmaster or the Moose office) can designate a community club to receive credit for the ticket purchased

- At season's end, the community club or team with the most tickets purchased will be awarded the opportunity to have their community club/team jersey worn by the Moose during an AHL game on Minor Hockey Night in 2009.

- Throughout the 2007-08 season, a monthly update of which community clubs/teams are leading the competition will be available at www.moosehockey.com or www.hockeymanitoba.ca.
