Chad Allan Informs Royals of Intention to Retire

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Chad Allan has informed the team of his intention to retire from playing professional hockey. Allan, a member of two World Junior gold medal championship squads for Team Canada, played the last six seasons in Europe. During a pro career that spanned eleven seasons, the thirty-one year old Allan scored forty goals, assisted on 128 others and picked up 793 penalty minutes in 624 games.

The Royals' home opener is on Saturday, November 3, 2007, against the Cincinnati Cyclones. Royals' Full Season Tickets and Total Choice Flex Plans are now on sale.
