
Columbus Assigns Beech and Methot to Crunch

Syracuse, NY (October 3, 2007) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned center Kris Beech and defenseman Marc Methot to the Crunch. In addition, Syracuse announced that they have signed left wing Kevin Jarman to an AHL contract and center Trevor Frischmon and left wing Jon Mirasty to professional try-out contracts.
Beech, 26, appeared in 64 games with Washington of the NHL last season, tallying 8 goals, 18 assists and 26 penalty minutes. A native of Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Beech was signed by Columbus as a free agent on August 7, 2007.
Methot, 22, appeared in 59 games with Syracuse last season posting 1 goal, 15 assists and 58 penalty minutes. Methot also appeared in 20 games with Columbus last season notching 4 assists and 12 penalty minutes. A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Methot was Columbus' 7th pick, 168th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Jarman, 22, appeared in 35 games with UMass-Amherst of Hockey East last season, racking up 9 goals, 14 assists and 39 penalty minutes. A native of Aurora, Ontario, Jarman was selected in the 4th round, 103rd overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Frischmon, 26, appeared in 33 games with Syracuse last season, notching 7 assists and 10 penalty minutes. A native of Ham Lake, Minnesota, Frischmon was an invitee to the 2007-08 Syracuse Crunch Training Camp.
Mirasty, 25, appeared in 41 games with Sorel-Tracy of the LNAH last season, tallying 2 goals, 6 assists and 304 penalty minutes. A native of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, Mirasty was an invitee to the 2007-08 Syracuse Crunch Training Camp.
The Crunch open their 14th AHL season on October 5 in Rochester. The club's Quickway Opening Night is set for Saturday, October 13 vs. Hartford.
